The SAGE Trial
Supplementation in Adolescent Girls with Endometriosis (The SAGE Study) is a six-month research study that explores the effect of nutrition on the development and severity of the symptoms of endometriosis. Participants take 2 pills every day (dietary supplement or a placebo pill) to help us study whether these supplements help improve pain and other endometriosis symptoms. The SAGE trial is no longer recruiting participants.
Research study participants are asked to:
- Make three study visits to the Clinical and Translational Study Unit (CTSU) at Boston Children’s Hospital
- Take two study medications daily for 6 months – dietary supplements and/or placebo pills
- Give blood samples, have vital signs (for example, your blood pressure, pulse) taken, and complete questionnaires about medicines, symptoms, and quality of life
- Describe your usual diet at each visit
